Toughened ceramics as engineering materials
Description
Magnesium oxide partially stabilized transformation toughened zirconia is one of the toughest ceramics yet developed. It also posesses excellent insulating, high strength, good thermal shock, and wear resistance properties. In addition magnesium oxide PS2 has a thermal expansion coefficient and elastic modulus similar to iron and steel. This talk will follow the development of Nilcra's magnesium oxide PS2 to its present state and cover a variety of important applications
