Description

The synthesis of oxygen-15 labeled compounds presents significant challenges to chemists due to short half-life of the radionuclide (t1/2=2.04 minutes). Traditional incorporation routes for oxygen isotopes involve oxidation and hydrolysis sequences in which isotopically enriched H2O are employed. Potential routes involving these and other sequences (e.g. addition reactions) are outlined. (author). 37 refs
