Extraterrestrial possibilities to measure cosmic antimatter
Description
The question of the existence of primary cosmic antimatter (PCA) is of fundamental interest for cosmogony and cosmology. The relevance of PCA to processes in the very early Universe (corresponding to an energy of 1015 GeV) is shown. A satellite experiment consisting of a magnetic spectrometer is proposed, which identifies antiprotons (anti p), antihelium nuclei (anti α), and positrons (e+) in the kinetic energy range from 100 MeV to 10 GeV to get statistically significant anti p- and e+-spectra and possibly some anti α events in a year of exposure.
