Emission characteristics of an electron source with a plasma bounded by near-wall ion layer
Description
The analysis of the characteristics of the electron source on the base of emission from a plasma is carried outwith account for processes in the emission channel. The plasma is limited by an ion layer. A physical model and technique are proposed which permit to calculate volt-ampere, emission characteristics and the source control characteristics in dependence on the plasma parameters, electric field in an accelerating gap and emission channel geometry. Calculation results agree satisfactorily with experimental data
