Description
Stopping cross sections of liquid water for high energy He2+ ions were obtained by using a liquid water jet target. Energy loss spectra of helium particles passing through the liquid target were measured as a function of the scattering angles. The energy loss spectra have been successfully reproduced by Monte Carlo simulation calculations (GEANT4.9.2.p02 toolkit) by taking account of multiple scattering inside the target. The results are in good agreement with the stopping data of ICRU Report 49. (author)
