Development of an EDP system for processing, evaluation and distributing data on the endurance properties of German steels at elevated temperatures
Description
For the determination of representative properties of the long-term heat resistance of heat-resistant steels, great quantities of test results must be evaluated. For simplifying the handling of greater data quantities, an information system was created, allowing to set up and handle database with results of fatigue tests on a personal computer. The EDP system uses the MS-DOS operating system and the ORACLE data administration system. It allows the regular exchange of data between the main database and several users. The measured data of new and current fatigue test can be successively added on electronic data media. The EDP system accepts data in the ASCII format for the purpose of data exchange, so that the data can be handled by any database administration system. (orig./MM)

Zur Ermittlung repraesentativer Kennwerte der Langzeitwarmfestigkeit warmfester Staehle muessen grosse Mengen von Versuchsergebnissen ausgewertet werden. Um die Handhabung groesserer Datenmengen zu vereinfachen, wurde ein Informationssystem geschaffen, das den Aufbau und die rationelle Verwaltung einer Datenbank fuer Ergebnisse von Zeitstandversuchen auf einem Arbeitsplatzrechner ermoeglicht. Das EDV-System arbeitet mit dem Betriebssystem MS-DOS und dem Datenverwaltungssystem ORACLE. Es gestattet den regelmaessigen Austausch von Daten zwischen der Datenbankzentralstelle und mehreren Pruefstellen. Die Messdaten neuer und laufender Zeitstandversuche koennen fortlaufend mit elektronischen Datentraegern in die Datenbank eingespeist werden. Das EDV-System ist auch auf den Datenaustausch im ASCII-Format eingerichtet, so dass die Daten in jedes beliebige Datenbankverwaltungssystem uebernommen werden koennen. (orig./MM)Additional details
