This volume contains the abstracts of both the invited lectures and the contributed papers presented at the Symposium. The 23 invited lectures gave a broad overview of the problems fusion technology in facing both now and in the future. Over half of the papers concentrate on the technologies of future fusion devices, mainly possible Next Step devices, such as NET or ITER. (H.W.)
