Development of bi-transition metal based oxy-telluride for energy harvesting

  • 1. Technical Physics Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)

Description

Bi based transition metal oxy-Ch (Ch =S, Se, Te) materials exhibit layered structure which crystallizes in the ZrCuSiAs type- structure with space group P4/nmm. In present work, p-type BiCuTeO n-type BiNiTeO material for developing thermoelectric generator has been synthesized. Power factor for these samples was calculated using LSR (Linseis Seebeck-Resistivity) and thermal conductivity was measured by Laser Flash Analysis method using an equation; K=D.ρ.Cp where D is diffusivity, ρ is physical density and Cp is specific heat
