Microstructures of iron-base long-range-ordered alloys bombarded to 70 dpa with nickel ions
Description
Disks of LRO-37-5 in the as-ordered and 20%-cold-worked conditions were bombarded with 4-MeV nickel ions to 70 dpa at temperatures from 570 to 6800C. Both conditions retained order for bombardment below the critical ordering temperature of about 6500C, and cold work improved the swelling resistance, especially above T/sub c/. Both conditions showed better resistance to swelling than 20%-cold-worked type 316 stainless steel
