The measurement of volume activity of radon in soil gas of bedrocks of buildings

  • 1. Uranium Survey, Concern Enterprise, Liberec (Czechoslovakia)

Description

The geophysical group of Uranium Survey, Liberec, have applied, since 1988, their own modification of the method of determination of volume activity of Rn in soil gas. This mode stems from the method of alpha cards developed in Canada and the USA and further modified as the SAN (method of active deposition) in USSR. It consists in measurement of surface alpha activity of daughter products of radon deposited within 24 hours on the sufficiently large cylindrical foil which was situated in the define hollow in soil.
