AECB staff annual assessment report of Gentilly-2 for 1994

Description

The Atomic Energy Control Board conducts a staff assessment of safety at Point Lepreau Generating Station for 1994. On-site Project Officers and Ottawa based specialists monitored the station throughout the year. In 1994 Gentilly -2 did not exceed the dose limits for the workers. Problems with monitoring of emissions to the environment resulted in four cases of non-compliance. Radiation and releases to the environment were still well below that of the regulatory limits. In 1994 the special safety systems were adequate. Hydro Quebec has reported no serious system shutdown in the past year. The number of occurrences reported in 1994 were high but still lower than 1993. Maintenance was found adequate at Gentilly - 2. There was a reduction in the number of fire alarms in 1994. 12 tabs., 2 figs
