Description

Some stable uranyl complexes of 4-nitrodiphenyl-2-carboxylic acid hydrazide have been prepared, isolated and characterized on the basis of chemical analysis, magnetic measurements, IR and electronic spectral studies for the first time. The composition of the compounds have also been confirmed by thermogravimetric analysis. The IR spectra of the complexes indicate that UO2+2 ion in these complexes maintain its linearity. Wilson's F-G matrix method has been followed to evaluate the U-O force constants and force constants due to interaction betwen the bonds. The U-O bond length lies in the range 1.723-1.744 A in these complexes. The complexation effect on U-O force constant and bond distance in these complexes have also been briefly discussed.
