Reference neutron fields with energies up to 70 MeV for the calibration of radiation protection instruments

Description
The potential use of nearly monoenergetic radiation fields for the calibration of radiation protection instruments for neutron energies up to about 70 MeV is discussed. The ambiguous situation with respect to the conversion coefficients for operational dose equivalent quantities in this energy region is reviewed. The results of such a calibration are presented using the example of a TEPC evaluated for dose equivalent. (author)
