Analysis of magnetic ordering in TbCo5
- 1. AN SSSR, Sverdlovsk. Inst. Fiziki Metallov
Description
The theoretical group method has been applied to establish the models of possible magnetic structures with a wave vector K=0 in crystals of the RCO5 type compounds (space group Dsub(6h)sup(1)). The comparison of diffraction pictures obtained on TbCo5 at different temperatures in the 4.2-1050 K range with calculations has been used to select magnetic modes which characterize the magnetic structure. It is shown that in the interval below Tc before and after spin orientation transition, TbCo5 compound is a collinear ferrimagnetic. Below 390 K magnetic sublattice moments are parallel to the basis plane, above 410 K they align along the c axis. The so called angular structure is realized in the intermediate region
