Rights-of-Way Program final report: Recommendations for policy initiatives for B.C. Hydro rights-of-way

Policy recommendations are provided for right-of-way management which will enable British Columbia Hydro to improve operational efficiency and customer service. Issues of concern are addressed by recommending the development of consistent approaches to managing existing rights-of-way, with the long-term objective of creating a foundation for planning and maintaining transmission line corridors. These issues are discussed under the categories of right-of-way acquisition, right-of-way agreements, clearing and vegetation management, compatible use of right-of-way lands, undergrounding, and right-of-way widths. Justifications for the recommendations are provided along with costs of implementation, alternative options, current practices, and action plans to be implemented. Detailed reports on background studies for each of the issues are appended. Separate abstracts have been prepared for six of the sets of recommendations contained in this document
