The microstructure of pyrocarbon cladding layers as a function of the fluidisation state

Description

Automatic translation: Particles from depositions of the three fluidisation states spouting, bubbling and slugging under otherwise identical deposition conditions were examined by TEM were analysed. The results show quantitative differences in the volume fraction of the PyC components and the size of the microstructural elements depending on the fluidisation states. Qualitative differences are apparent in the microstructure, especially in the slugging deposition. Explanations for these differences are are discussed. The results are compared with other characterisation methods.
