Specific features of electron beam boriding of steels

Description
Investigation results on structure and properties of boride layers deposited on carbon steels using electron beam processing in vacuum are reported. Electron beam boriding is shown to permit an essential decrease of boriding time compared to the routine technology. The use of electron beam heating allows one simultaneously to synthesize refractory metal borides (W2B5, CrB2, VB2, TiB2) and to form boride layers at steel surface

Приведены результаты исследования структуры и свойств боридных слоев, нанесенных на углеродистые стали методом электронно-лучевой обработки в вакууме. Показано, что электронно-лучевое борирование позволяет существенно сократить время формирования боридного слоя по сравнению с традиционным способом. Применение электронного нагрева позволяет одновременно синтезировать бориды тугоплавких металлов (W2B5, CrB2, VB2, TiB2) и формировать боридные слои на поверхности сталиAdditional details
