Method to produce thorium-containing nuclear fuel pellets
Description
To produce Th-containing nuclear fuel pellets by pressing at 40,000-100,000 N/cm2 and sintering at 1600-1800 degree, the starting material has a porous structure, produced by a gel process which involves the exposure of nuclear fuel compounds containing pore-forming additives to an ammoniacal atmosphere and removal of the additive by heat treatment.
