Spectrophotometric estimation of uranium in PUREX process samples

Description
A simple and quick method of uranium estimation from PUREX process aqueous stream samples has been field tested for concentration range of 1g/L to 50 g/L. Method involves minimum dilution of sample aliquot with 1 M Na2CO3 (with 3% EDTA) solution followed by absorbance measurement. Molar absorbance coefficient observed is 26.42 L.mole-1cm-1. Precision and accuracy of the method is about 2%. (author)
