Odd harmonics in the angular distribution of fission fragments

  • 1. Nuclear Physics Institute, Siberian Division, USSR Academy of Sciences

Description

The asymmetry of the angular distribution of light and heavy fragments can serve as a source of information on direct fission of nuclei (by photons, neutrons, an charged particles) and on the statistical properties of the compound states. The investigation of this asymmetry may turn out to be useful for further study of the properties of the fission channels and for the search for new parity-violation effects
