Effect of praseodymium doping on the structural and magnetic properties of La1.2-xPrxSr1.8Mn2O7 bilayer manganese oxides

Description
Structural and magnetic properties of La1.2-xPrxSr1.8Mn2O7 (0≤x≤1.2) bilayers manganese oxides have been investigated. Structural characterizations showed that all our synthesized samples crystallize in the tetragonal structure with I4/mmm space group. Magnetization measurements versus temperature showed that all of our samples exhibit a paramagnetic to ferromagnetic transition with decreasing temperature. The Curie temperature Tc decreases with increasing praseodymium content. It is found to decrease from 315 K for x=0 to 265 K for x=1.2. (Abstract Copyright [2004], Wiley Periodicals, Inc.)
