Description

Possibility of long-term development of nuclear power with 238U burnup based uranium fuel cycle on the basis of modern industrial technology is studied. It is demonstrated that such development is possible with fast reactors including reactors with sodium coolant. Not full fuel reprocessing in closed fuel cycle, where pyroelectrochemical technology are used, that provides for the availability in prepared after reprocessing to loading of fresh fuel parts of fission products and actinides, is tolerated. These fission products and actinides may be partially burned up in the reactor that reduces amount of radioactive waste in relation to full reprocessing with chemical separation of elements of fuel as well as radiation effect on the environment
