Electromagnetic production of trimuons in deep inelastic muon scattering

Description

A model-independent analysis is fulfilled for contribution from etectromagnetic mechanisms of production of μ+μ- pairs to the measured cross sections of the multimuon events. The cross sections of trident processes on proton and carbon are calculated at the energy of 250 GeV. At the energies considered the Bethe-Heitler diagrams contribution into total trident-process cross sections is by 2-3 orders more than the Compton diagram contribution. The tendency to reduction of the Compton diagram contribution with interference contribution between the Compton and Bethe-Heitler diagrams is observed
