Superdeformation in 60Zn

  • 1. Dept. of Physics, Manonmaniam Sundaranar Univ., Tirunelveli (India)

Description

Among more than 150 established superdeformed (SD) bands, the recently discovered SD bands in the mass region A∼ 60 region are unique in the sense that they belong to the lightest mass region where super deformation has been observed. The recent study of SD bands in the N=Z nucleus 60Zn has shown an interesting phenomenon. The present paper, theoretically reports a sharp increase in J moments of inertia at low angular frequency using statistical theory
