The application of SPECT (single photon emission computerized tomography) in the diagnosis of hepatic hemangioma with Tc-99m labeled erythrocytes (RBC)
- 1. Amsterdam Univ. (Netherlands). Inst. voor Nucleaire Geneeskunde
Description
Research has been done into the value of SPECT compared with planar scintigraphy for the differential diagnosis of hepatic hemangiomas. The protocol and methods, labeling procedure, SPECT acquisition and SPECT reconstruction are reviewed. A small patient study seems to indicate that SPECT studies with labeled red cells gives better results in finding small and deep-lying hepatic hemangiomas. 1 reference; 6 figs.; 4 tabs
