Damage of tungsten monocrystal by fast heavy ions

Description
Tungsten monocrystal damage under irradiation by heavy ions up to Xe+8 with 0.6-8 MeV/amu energy was studied. Direct crystallographic method based on the shade effect was used. Scale change of dose dependent damages was found. Ions damage capability change corresponds to the defects formation model based on the nuclear sputtering. No contribution of ion energy electron losses in tungsten damage is found
