238Pu/Be based sealed radionuclide neutron sources
Description
The technical requirements are presented on the air-tightness of the source (1x10-8 Pa.m3.s-1 max.) and its resistance to external mechanical effects. The source must preserve its characteristics over the recommended period of time, i.e., for sources with the value of neutron emission 5x107 s-1 for a period of minimally 5 years, for sources with a lower value of neutron emission for minimally 10 years, in operation in temperatures ranging from -60 degC to 250 degC in the specified environment. The level of surface radioactive contamination of the source must not exceed 185 Bq. (J.B.). 1 tab
