Effect of solvents on relation of band intensities of luminescence spectrum of europium ions
Description
An effect has been studied of the solvents miscible with water on a change in line intensity of the luminescence spectrum of europium ions which corresponds to a 'supersensitive' translation (SST) in chloride solutions. It has been established that the value Isub(Eu) (5D0 → 7F2)covalence of the band Eu-ligand in solutions increases with dielectric constant of the solvent. It has been shown that in chloride solutions proportionality is observed between the above ratio and the oscillator forces of the absorption band of Nb3+ corresponding to SST. The proportionality indicates that the effect of the surrounding of the lanthanide ion is identical in SST of both absorption spectra and those of luminescence
