Comparison of the l-forbidden Gamov-Teller β-transition of 39Ca with the 0--0+ β-transitions

The 0--0+ β-transition in the region of light, medium and heavy nuclei and the l-forbidden Gamov-Teller β-transition of 39Ca are discussed in terms of the finite Fermi-system theory. The comparison between the theoretical and experimental half-lifes for the 0--0+ β-transitions shows that the local axial charge arising from the time part of the axial current is not sufficient to explain the characteristics of the l-forbidden β-transition of 39Ca. If a term lambda[(sigmaP)P/Psub(F)2]tausub(+-) caused by the tensor interaction is added, alongside the usual term esub(qs)sigmatausub(+-) to the local charge esub(q)[sigmatausub(+-)] arising from the space part of the axial current, the experimental half-life for the l-forbidden β-transition is obtained at lambda=0.03+-0.005.
