Power flow in the neutral beam line with 1800 deflection magnet

Description
In high power neutral beam injector with high voltage acceleration and long pulse length, high transmission of beam through lines and low dissipation of unneutralized ion beams have become more severe problems because of damage to the vacuum vessel. The neutral beam injector in the R-project of IPP Nagoya University has been planned with high power input of 8 MW per line. In the conceptual design the beam line has been optimized for 1800 deflection magnet. In order to develop the injector the beam transport of neutral and ion beams have been investigated in the neutral beam test stand (5 MW NBTS) to get data-base for the design of 1800 deflection magnet and power loading distribution
