Experience in application of spectrometric complexes for radiation monitoring during accident effect elimination in the Chernobyl' NPP zone

Description

Analysis of sample radionuclide composition in spectrometric laboratories of the department of nuclear safety of the Chernobyl' NPP using gamma spectrometers with semiconductor detectors and computers with peripherals is discussed. The programs for sample processing, apparatus spectrum analysis, analyzer calibration, calculations of radionuclide specific activities and spectrometer aperture are described. The conclusion is made that the software developed gives an opportunity to measure radionuclide specific activities for concentrations sufficiently smaller than the maximum permissible concentrations. 1 ref
