Potentiometric study on some ternary complexes of indium(III)

  • 1. Nagpur Univ. (India). Dept. of Chemistry

Description

Modified form of Irving-Rossotti's pH titration technique has been employed to investigate mixed ligand complex forming tendency of In(III) with nitrilotriacetic acid as primary ligand and oxalic acid, malonic acid, succinic acid, maleic acid, malic acid, itaconic acid, pyridine 2, 6 dicarboxylic acid, pyrocatechol, resorcinol and phthalic acid as secondary ligands. The study was carried out at three temperatures, 15 deg, 30 deg and 45 degC and at fixed ionic strength of 0.2 M(NaClO4). The sequence of stability of formation constants log Ksub(MLA)sup(MA) has been discussed with the properties of secondary ligands used. (author). 7 refs
