Moessbauer spectroscopic studies on ultra fine powders of NiZn-ferrite

Mixed ferrite NixZn1-xFe2O4 was precipitated from a solution containing Ni2+, Zn2+ and Fe3+ ions in the molecular ratio of 1:1:4. The different aged samples were investigated by X-ray diffractometry and Moessbauer spectroscopy. The substance which was not aged contains β-FeOOH and strongly distorted NiZn ferrite. Ageing leads to the formation of spinel structure. Moessbauer spectra of the aged samples exhibit a typical relaxation shape, which can be explained by occuring of small clusters possessing complete spinel structure. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Aus einer Loesung, die Ni2+, Zn2+ und Fe3+-Ionen im molaren Verhaeltnis von 1:1:4 enthielt, wurde Mischferrit NixZn1-xFe2O4 ausgefaellt. Die unterschiedlich gealterten Proben wurden mit Roentgendiffraktometrie und Moessbauer-Spektroskopie untersucht. Die ungealterte Substanz enthaelt β-FeOOH und stark gestoerten NiZn-Ferrit. Durch die Alterung bildet sich die angestrebte Spinellstruktur nach und nach heraus. Die Spektren der gealterten Proben zeigen eine Relaxationsform, die auf das Vorhandensein von Bereichen vollstaendig ausgebildeter Spinellstruktur zurueckgefuehrt wird. (orig.)Additional details
