Description

The methods of calculating aerosol particle loss in sampling lines are introduced. These methods are recommended by the foreign standards of sampling and monitoring airborne radioactive releases from the stacks and ducts. The losses of particle in a sampling system consist of the wall loss in nozzles, straight tubes with an angle relative to vertical direction and bends. The calculating software can be developed on the basis of the methods. In the paper, some calculated results provided here are compared with the calculated results abroad and the experimental data. The calculating methods or the software of the line losses are not only the basis for the evaluation of existing stacks sampling systems and the design of new sampling systems, but also for the monitoring of sampling duct loss.
