On influence of striction on high-frequency magnetic susceptibility at the second-order phase transition in magnetic field
- 1. AN Ukrainskoj SSR, Donetsk. Fiziko-Tekhnicheskij Inst.
Description
Influence of magnetoelastic effects on high-frequency magnetic susceptibility of crystals in the magnetic field is investigated. It is shown that the difference between high-frequency and static susceptibility is completely defined by striction effects, when frequencies ω satisfy the condition cos > ω > vL-1 (ωs-minimal frequency, which characterizes dynamics of the magnetic subsystem, v-sound velocity, L-minimal linear dimension of the sample). The measurements, accomplished on erbium ortoferrite in the range of metmagnetic phase transition, agree qualitatively with the theoretical estimates
