Thermoluminescent characteristics of LiMgF3: Er3+ sintered fluoro perovskite phosphor exposed to gamma photons

Description

Full text: The LiMgF3 sintered perovskite doped with Er3+ ions was investigated by thermally stimulated luminescence (TL). The ion impurity concentration in the ternary fluoro perovskite matrix was 1, 2 and 4 % molar. The glow curves, dose-response, fading, and the TL reproducibility of the signals were analyzed. A linear response was found in the 1 - 70 Gy dose range, which is of interest in radiotherapy applications. The low fading, about 17 % at 12 h after irradiation, shows that this phosphor material may be an useful detector for gamma photons. The kinetics parameters were obtained by using the Initial Rise Method in the individual TL peaks resolved after the glow curve deconvolution. (Author)
