Effect of gamma - radiation on some organic dyes and some uranium compounds
Description
The main purpose of the presented work is to investigate the effect of radiation on some analytical reagents used in uranium determination and separation . The work is planned to simulate conditions of hot reprocessing. The thesis includes three main chapters. -The introduction, summarizes a review of the radiation chemistry of : water. and dilute solutions both aqueous and organic. A comprehensive literature survey on the radiolysis of aqueous and organic uranium solutions is given. A discussion of the effect of radiation on uranium separation and determination is also presented. - The Experimental, gives an account of the different experimental techniques applied throughout the investigation and includes : the materials, the apparatus and the procedure. The latter deals mainly with calibration of irradiation facilities and studies on radiation stability of thoron and uranium complexes
