Analyzing powers of proton-deuteron radiative capture reaction at 17.5 MeV

Description

Angular distributions of tensor analyzing powers Axx(θ), Ayy(θ) and Azz(θ), and vector analyzing power Ay(θ) have been measured for the 1H(d vector, 3He)γ reaction at Ed=17.5 MeV. A H2 gas target that has carbon foil windows has been used. 3He particles have been separated from the deuteron beam by a dipole magnet, and detected by a wide Si detector. The data are compared with Faddeev calculations using various NN potentials. None of the calculation simultaneously reproduces two kinds of tensor analyzing powers, and the inclusion of 3N force enlarges the difference between the data and the calculation. The disagreement can be attributed to neither Coulomb force nor M1 transition both neglected in the calculation. Modification in P-wave part of NN interaction would improve the agreement. (author)
