Concentration dependence of magnetic properties of glasses, activated with iron and gadolinium
- 1. Gosudarstvennyj Opticheskij Inst., Leningrad (USSR)
Description
The interaction of iron gadolinium in glasses of the potassium alumoborate system is studied. Potassium alumoborate glasses are obtained in which the ferromagnetic properties are manifested at low concentrations of paramagnetic additions. The introduction of gadolinium oxide is shown to increase the Faraday effect. An optimal Gd2O3 concentration at which the Faraday effect is 30 deg/cm in the 600-1200 nm spectrum range equals
