Description

Simulations are presented for a laser-driven cyclotron autoresonance accelerator with a practical guide magnetic field, as produced by a single coil. Effects that are investigated include acceleration in the non-resonant magnetic field profile, reduced acceleration due to misalignment between the magnetic field axis and the laser beam axis, acceleration with finite beam loading, and reduced acceleration due to slippage for a finite length radiation pulse and finite length bunch
