Description
Resistivity measurements and magnetic properties of Ti(Fe,Co) and Zr(Fe,Co)2 are presented. The results are interpreted on the basis of itinerant electron magnetism. Within the restrictions of weak itinerant electron magnetism a simple model is proposed to estimate N(Esub(f)) from magnetic and resistivity data. Although these results for Ti(Fesub(1-x)Cosub(x)) 0.1 < x < 0.56 differ by approximately 20 to 30 % from N(Esub(f)) values deduced from specific heat measurements by Asada and Nose the concentration dependence of both N(Esub(f)) values is similar. For Zr(Fe,Co)2 the estimated N(Esub(f)) values support the simple Stoner model for the transition from ferromagnetism to paramagnetism with increasing Co concentration. (author)
