Physical dosimetry in Kazakhstan and world: history and prospects

  • 1. Branch 'Scientific and Practical Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Expertise and Monitoring', Almaty (Kazakhstan)

Description

This article provides brief reviews of dosimetry methods using physical phenomena (electron paramagnetic resonance, thermoluminescence and optically stimulated luminescence) as additional approach for emergency radiation dose assessment. Worldwide and local experience of using these techniques in purposes of emergency dosimetry is also summarized and the prospects for the development of future dosimetric studies of this scientific field in Kazakhstan are determined.
