  • 1. Department of Fuel Safety Research, Tokai Research Establishment, Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute, Tokai-mura, Naka-gun, Ibaraki-ken (Japan)

Description

1 - Description of program or function: AND is designed to obtain reliable atomic number densities for neutronic calculation by the use of well established physical constants (Avogadro number, atomic mass, material density) and theoretical and experimental formulas. 2 - Method of solution: The theoretical formulas are employed to calculate number densities, except hydrogen number density in solutions where the formulas obtained by experiments are utilized. 3 - Restrictions on the complexity of the problem: AND treats the fuel materials which are commonly seen at fuel fabrication plant and spent fuel reprocessing plant; namely U-H2O, UO2-H2O, UO3-H2O, ADU-H2O, UO2F2 aqueous, U3O8-H2O, UO2(NO3)2 aqueous, Pu-H2O, PuO2-H2O, Pu(NO3)4 aqueous, PuO2.UO2-H2O, and Pu(NO3)4-UO2(NO3)2 aqueous
