Optimization of the configuration of beams for laser direct driven fusion

Description
In order to improve the irradiation uniformity of spherical target for laser direct driven fusion, it is necessary optimizing the configuration of beams. By analyzing the geometrical factor of the spherical-harmonic modes, the general rules are proposed for optimizing the configuration of beams. According to the rules, one can obtain higher irradiation uniformity under the case of limited number of beams. Some typical examples that satisfy the rules are presented
