Description

The regularities of decarbonization of high alloyed chromium-nickel and chromium-manganese melts on the blowing-off with argon- and nitric-oxygen mixtures, and also the possibility of the nitrogen removal from the melt saturated with nitrogen are studied under laboratory conditions. The refining technology of the chromium-nickel Kh18N10 steel with argon- and vapour-oxygen mixtures is tested. The blowing-off with vapour-oxygen mixtures results in the saturation of the metal with hydrogen, however, the following blowing-off with argon provides hydrogen removal up to quite low concentrations. The nitric-oxygen blowing-off results in saturation of the metal with nitrogen, but the following blowing -off with argon or argon-oxygen mixtures permits to decrease the content of nitrogen. The optimum regime of the blowing-off with gas mixtures of the alternating composi on with the following optimum regime of deoxidation provides a deep decarbonization and a high assimilation of chromium (up to 95% and greater)
