Description
Classical molecular dynamics of the ions and quantum treatment of the electrons are combined in the study of the properties of hot, dense plasmas. An effective ionic interaction potential is used in the molecular dynamics simulations. The electronic density of states is calculated using the equation of motion method. Special attention is given to the broadening of resonances in the electronic density of states, which may have important effects on the thermodynamic properties of the plasma. (Author)
