Experimental check of models and data to describe the resonance-absorption in HTR-fuel
Description
Measurements of effective resonance integrals of spherical HTGR fuel assemblies are performed. These measurements were carried out to test calculations models taking into account the influence of the grain structure on the effective resonance integral caused by the use of coated particles. Further the resonance overlap of these resonance absorber is examinated. It shows, that there is in general a good agreement between measurement and calculation. In addition to earlier investigations of the resonance absorption of Hafnium, investigations on the doppler effect on resonance absorption have been performed at temperatures up to 5000C. Calculation for the Hafnium resonance integral using the computer program GAROL with the modified set of resonance parameters show good agreement with the measurements. These calculations give also a way to determine the resonance integral for infinite dilution. (orig.)

Es werden Messungen effektiver Resonanzintegrale an Brennstoffzonen kugelfoermiger HTR-Brennelemente durchgefuehrt. Sie werden mit Rechenmodellen, die den Einfluss der koernigen Struktur der coated particles auf das effektive Resonanzintegral beruecksichtigen, ueberprueft. Weiterhin werden Resonanzueberlappungseffekte der Resonanzabsorber untersucht. Die Berechnungen zeigen im allgemeinen eine gute Uebereinstimmung mit den experimentellen Ergebnissen. In Ergaenzung frueherer Arbeiten zur Resonanzabsorption von Hafnium werden hier experimentelle Untersuchungen bei hoeheren Temperaturen bis zu 5000C beschrieben. Vergleichende numerische Berechnungen mit Hilfe des Rechenprogramms GAROL unter Verwendung des modifizierten Parametersatzes ergeben gute Uebereinstimmung mit dem Experiment. Darueber hinaus wird mittels dieser Rechnungen eine einfache Methode zur Bestimmung des RI unendlich aufgezeigt. (orig.)
