Filtering impact induced signal with fast Fourier algorithms

Description

This study deals the Fast Fourier algorithm to extract key features from the various energy levels of impact induced experimental signals. Data from the Low Velocity Impact (LVI) test on sampled specimen consisting of stacking sequence [(0/plus minus 45/90)/sub 4/]/sub 5s/ was de-noised. Graphics were presented on the g-force data for very high frequency ranges. Harder situation were combated with the standard computational software such as MATLAB, Mini Cat and Daisy Lab. The FFT being a band pass filter after comparing the results with the available data has shown that the model is reliable. The algorithm can be applied to other studies and results can be used to validate analysis methods and develop further procedures. (author)
