Highlights: • Homogeneous graphene was facilely coated on the surface of basalt fibers. • Interfacial adhesive can be improved for the basalt fibers reinforced composites. • Multiscale structure enhanced the mechanical and tribological for the composites. • Provided a facile and effective strategy to improve the performance of composites.
