Description
A general treatment of finite temperature and external electromagnetic field effects for gauge theories is presented. The results are illustrated explicitly for the SU(2) model of Georgi and Glashow for which we obtain the finite temperature one-loop effective action in the presence of an external magnetic field. We discuss briefly the possible use of the results obtained
